Fruit "ice cream" Smoothie PDF Print E-mail

When my little one is teething, she loves anything cold in her mouth, especially ice cream! I would rather give her something a little more nutricious, so I came up with this recipe. The frozen fruit is sweet and creates an ice cream texture to the smoothie. You can spoon feed this to your child or if they've mastered the straw it is fun to hold the cup as they slurp it up through the straw. I also make myself a fat free version of this smoothie for a great start to my day in the morning.

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup yogurt (any flavour)

1 cup of frozen fruit, such as berries (any kind) and pinapple

1 half banana

Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until thick and smooth. During blending you may need to add a little more milk to help it along.
