Everything got more expensive when my daughter reached her teenage years. We had to sit down and hammer out a budget for clothes, shoes, makeup, movies and concerts. And, in addition to all of this, she is always hungry and it is quite a task to keep enough food in the house. I don't know anything about teenage boys, but I understand that they are even hungrier! Here are some easy ways to keep those teen tummies from growling without breaking the bank.

This recipe is for busy moms (not kids!) who want to relax just a little bit. It combines dessert with a slight bit of alcohol, for a super yummy, frozen treat. Warning, do not drive after consuming, as there is alcohol in the recipe.

Potatoes are not only a tasty ingredient but also one of the first foods that many babies learn to love. A great and filling weaning food, here are some perfect ways to serve potatoes to your baby. Potatoes are not the most nutrient rich vegetable so,although they are great for a quick weaning meal, they are best when used as a base for other more nutritious ingredients.

Making fresh guacamole is surprisingly easy. Choose avocados that are dark rather than green. Ripe avocado will be soft under the skin, not hard. Using fresh lemon juice will keep the guacamole green, otherwise the color can turn dark and brownish.

This flourless, organic, nearly sugarless chocolate cake is delicious, great to serve for kids birthdays and those who are on glutein free, or low sugar diets. It is not low in calories- but you cannot have everything. (The sugar content comes from the quality of the chocolate, so if you use dark, bittersweet chocolate the sugar content is very very low because the agave is the sweetener). You will not be disappointed.
