Fresh Prawns are usually sold boiled in the shell, and all you have to do is pull off the heads and tails and shell them. Boil uncooked prawns for about 10 minutes in salted water and shell them. Try this prawn chili fry recipe.
Preparation time : 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
Calories : 180 per portion
Ingredients:
3 tbsp oil
3 onions, sliced
2 green chillies, seeded and chopped
1 inch piece root ginger chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt as per taste
225 gms/ 8 oz frozen prawns
Fresh prawns would enhance the taste even more
Procedure:
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the onions and fry until soft and golden. Add the chillies, ginger, chilli powder, turmeric and salt to taste and fry for 2 minutes. Add the prawns and cook, uncovered, for about 3 minutes or until all the moisture has evaporated.
