When the whole family has a Saturday night treat of a Chinese Takeaway there is no need to leave baby out. Why not make this healthy and tasty recipe so that baby can be part of the fun.
To make Chinese Takeaway Chicken and Sweetcorn Noodles you will need:
Ingredients
-
Small portion of dried egg noodles
-
1 chicken breast
-
1/2 small tin of sweetcorn
-
Pinch of dried coriander
Recipe
- Cook the chicken breast in the way you usually cook chicken for your family. If unsure then the healthiest way to cook it for baby is to put the breast into a pan of water that has already been brought to the boil and leave to simmer for half an hour
- Check that the chicken has cooked all the way through then leave to cool
- Chop the chicken into small chunks and add the drained sweetcorn. Rinse the sweetcorn before adding in to remove any salt or sugar that was in the tinned water.
- Bring another pan of water to the boil then add the noodles. Leave to simmer for 15 minutes
- Put all of the ingredients with a pinch of coriander in a food processor to blend to desired consistency or put all contents in a bowl and use a hand blender.
This should have made enough food for baby to join in with takeaway night and also to freeze a few portions for later use. Either put the portions in covered plastic dishes or use an ice cube tray.
Next step - teach baby to use chopsticks!
