This is a very easy, healthy recipe that can serve as a dinner party starter or simply a healthy breakfast for busy moms-on-the-go.The grapefruit will meet nearly all your Vitamin C requirement for the day, making it a wonderful recipe for winter, when our immune systems certainly need a boost to keep the colds and sniffles at bay! Ingredients
  • Allow half a grapefruit per person
  • Use 1tsp clear, runny honey per serving
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon to sprinkle
 Method
  1. Cut each grapefruit in half
  2. Cut a small slice of the bottom of each half, making it easier for the fruit to stand up.
  3. Remove the centre, harder core from each half of the fruit.
  4. Using a very sharp knife, carefully loosen the individual segments.
  5. Spread the honey over the fruit.
  6. Place a small knob of butter on each half, and then sprinkle generously with the cinnamon.
  7. Place the fruit on a baking tray and put under a hot grill for around 10 minutes, or until the top of the fruit has gone crisp, and the grapefruit has warmed through.
Serve immediately. You can ring the changes with this dish by missing off the cinnamon and replacing it with  a tablespoon of sherry per serving, ideal for the dinner party option. This is a healthy, quick and easy dish, so no excuses now for reaching for that breakfast croissant!
