If your baby won't eat savoury food try these Veggie Fruit Mixes to get baby used to the world of savouries without tears (for baby) and stress (for mom).

Plum, Pea and Carrot Mix

Ingredients

2 plums

1 carrot

1 tablespoon/ small handfull of peas

Recipe

  1. Chop the carrots into small chunks
  2. Bring a pan of water to the boil
  3. Boil the carrots and peas until the carrots are soft (approx 20 minutes)
  4. Strain the water off and leave to cool
  5. Put a tablespoon of water into a pan and add the chopped, skinned and destoned plumbs. Leave on a low heat until the plums have turned to puree
  6. Add the carrots and peas and use a potato masher, fork, hand blender or food processor to blend the ingredients together into a puree. Be sure to blend all of the peas full to avoid bits of skin.

Each time you make the mix reduce the plum and increase the carrot. Once on a non plum mix start to introduce extra savoury flavours such as potato or meat.

Alternatives

The same method can be used to make the below alternatives;

Potato, sweetcorn and apple

Pear, pea and parsnip

Banana and Avacado

Mango, carrot and pea
