Tips and Advice - Cooking from Scratch

Cooking meals for yourself and your family is a rewarding experience.
It is like starting a new project every day and seeing it through to
completion (everyone eats it up). It is both good for one's ego and for
our task management skills. Today I realized why many people would
avoid cooking from scratch.

I love to have soda bread with soups (especially cauliflower soup) but
it is also great toasted in the morning and decorated with strawberry
jam. This is one of the simplest bread recipes you'll ever find. It is
high on ease and low on fuss.
There is something beautiful about the color and oval shape of lemons.
Its physical beauty doesn't mesh with the sour flavour of a lemon on
the tongue. But with the right amount sugar and flour just about
anything can taste as good as it looks.
Having a family meatball-rolling-fest is a great opportunity for young
ones to practice their dexterity and an opportunity to discuss
sanitation in the kitchen while stocking your freezer with some
tasty meatballs. Be sure to offer a meatball or two as a reward at the
end.
Leftovers are a natural part of cooking a turkey but we can only take
so many turkey sandwiches. This makes turkey soup a necessary as well
as excellent way to use up turkey and potato leftovers. It also allows
us to make use of the leftover carcass and residual meat once we've
gleamed off the good stuff.
At the top of my list of favorite foods is this quick and easy Alfredo
sauce. It is perfect for your pasta of choice or can be used as a
dipping sauce for pizza crust and bread sticks. To say that this
whipping cream based sauce is yummy is a mere understatement.
