Smoothies are a great way to start your child's day. They are quick and packed with nutrition which is good for Moms and kids. Keep the ingredients on hand so you and the kids can enjoy this morning treat.
- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
- 2 bananas cut into large chunks
- 1 cup orange juice - Add more as needed
- 2 cups plain or vanilla yogurt
- 1/2 cup ice
Place all ingredients in blender and blend thoroughly. This recipe makes a full blender which is great for my family of 7 kids, so adjust as needed. I will often add omega oils, or alfalfa powder, or anything that will boost their little bodies. It is easy to overpower the taste of the smoothie so start with small amounts of supplements. Remember that many other fruit combinations are equally delicious and nutritious. Try combining mango with banana and strawberry. Make your child a part of the process by asking what their fruit suggestions are. Please feel free to offer your choices here and let us know how yours turned out!
